The bright street lights blind my eyes
So I lower my head
And let the ice- river rush through my veins
To freely engulf me.
Heart sporadically leaping down my throat
The insatiable void that uncontrollably screams
And throws a tantrum
Desperate to fill the vacant space
Here within.
Smiles so plastered to my lethargic face
Like a duct tape stuck on a rigid surface
That no matter how hard you pull
It still stays intact.
Breathing in and out rhythmically
Feels brutally unreal
Like blowing air in a ruptured balloon
Futile and disappointing…
And superficial conversations turn to
Muffled noise of nothingness
As I drown in the emptiness
Wavering into the abyss.
