I have been a tremendous fan of Nomadic Habit ever since I stumbled upon her subtly evocative photographs sheered with softness but with an underlying strength. And either it’s because of her nature of being a consistent traveler or her seemingly grounded self, I feel that in the many influences we are exposed daily, there is an elemental understanding I have with the artist. This video was recently posted on her blog, a video I felt a connection to my Latin American roots. Please watch and definitely, I HIGHLY encourage for you to check out her blog, Instagram, and Vimeo.
02/05/17 – 12 pm – Paris, France
Here it is, Sunday night.
The few hours left until I go back to work are quickly vanishing.
I could use these precious hours to sleep. Tomorrow I take a plane at 7 am. Meaning that at 5:30, I’ll be toasting bread in my kitchen. I’ll be back home at 10 pm.
But I’m not sleeping yet. I’m listening to Ta-Ku.
Music to break up too.
Break up with Paris. Break up with work. Break up with reality. Break up with people.
30 mins of calm, 30 mins of evasion. 30 mins when Ta-Ku guides my mind a step away from reality. To contemplate.
Songs to make up to.
30 mins to make up with reality. Make-up with people. Make-up with work. Make-up with Paris. To realize how lucky I am to have a job I love, to live in the most beautiful city in the world and, the most important, to have people who care about me.
Here it is, Sunday night.
I may lack a bit of sleep tomorrow morning, but I’ll wake up motivated as ever.
This ride is smooth. Give it a try.
Next Sunday maybe I’ll choose another driver away from reality.

Like what you hear? Here is more for your ears:
“The truth is none of us are easy to date, deal with, or please all the time. We have our vices, attitudes, and way of doing things that make us who we are. You won’t like everything about somebody, it’s impossible. This is life and it isn’t about finding the perfect person, it isn’t about living some fairy tale. It’s about finding something you’re willing to work for, with somebody who’s willing to work with you, that simple. Find someone who has a heart for you and never stop fighting for them.” -unknown

If I remember everything,
You’ll say I misremembered this or that.
But I do remember some things
And if you’ll indulge me just this once:
Rive Gauche-bound with erotic notions
Rapacious and acquisitive,
Impassioned and satisfied.
Sitting close together,
Tangled like the vines of the Tuileries.
Lethal doses of carnality,
Fiery and foolhardy,
Tender and coy.
Billowing like the trains of the Gare du Nord.
Lofty eyes and
My personal muse in Montparnasse.
